Con McGarry farms in the Midland's County of Roscommon in Ireland, where
he runs a flock of suffolk &texel sheep along with a herd of commercial
limousine cows.
Con's dogs are trained on sheep until there is a certain degree of
obedience reached and then depending on the ability of the dog he will be
taught to work the cattle.
Con has been breeding and training dogs for 15 years with a lot of
success. Some of the dogs he has sold are not only competing in the UK and
Ireland, but also abroad in trials in the USA and Belgium .
Here are but a few of few of Con,s achievements.
2nd in the Irish National in 94
(He has been in the team every year since.)
Twice won the Irish Nat. brace Championships
Years 97-98.
2nd Int Brace in 2000.
won one man and his dog in 2000
Won golden Vale Int Trial in 98 and in 2000.
Won the four provence trial in 2000 .
( 800 yard double gather.)
On average Con normally wins approximately 12 Open Championships each
year, and has done so for a number of years.
